COMMUNITY WELFARE UNIT’S ACTIVITIES AT TRICHY BRANCH OFFICE

The Rising Star Outreach of India caters to the needs of the leprosy affected patients all over the Tamil Nadu. So for effective functioning, a field worker was placed and functions from theTrichy Branch Office to reach the colonies situated in different districts of Southern States of Tamil Nadu. It covers 18 colonies which comprises of Kanyakumari, Coimbatore, Kumbakkonam, Thanjavur, Ulunthurpet, Pananthopu, Madurai, Paramakudi, Thirunelveli etc. The three major unit’s activities such as Issue of Grants, Colony Improvement Activities and Perpetual Educational Grant (PEG) were carried out based on the needs of the colony through Self Help Groups and Welfare Committees. The field worker receives the request, verification is done and the project is been implemented. Supervision and monitoring is done by the field worker to the colonies to ensure proper functioning of the group. Also the field worker makes regular visits to the beneficiary’s house and collects the feedback about the income generating activities. In addition the field worker identifies new colonies and their details are collected
